Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP)
Mission:

Singapore has benefited from training provided by other countries and international organisations. Through the SCP, Singapore shares its development experiences with other developing countries. In 1992, the Singapore Cooperation Programme was established, bringing together under one framework, the various technical assistance programmes offered by Singapore. The SCP offers two types of technical assistance, namely bilateral and joint training programmes and has a number of global partners.

ICT Focus:

Although the Cooperation Programme does not have a distinct department for ICT and development it does incorporate it into many of its projects.

Programme activities:

Singapore's bilateral technical assistance programmes generally take the form of training courses or study visits conducted in Singapore, and are extended to a wide range of developing countries in the Asia-Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean. One particular programme using ICTs was the establishment of a Technical Training Centre in Vietnam. The centre aimed to increase the technical capacity of high school graduates and since its founding has become extremely renowned.
