Mission:

The Internet Society is a non-profit, non-governmental professional membership organisation, which focuses on four 'pillars' of activity: standards, public policy, education and training, and membership.

ICT focus:

The Society has helped train many of the key information technology leaders around the world through programmes such as its annual Network Training Workshops, Sustainable Internet Training Centres, and sponsorship of the Internet Fiesta.

Programme activities:

Network Training Workshops The annual Network Training Workshop for countries in the early stages of internetworking provides training for professionals in the design, operation, maintenance and management of internetworks. Over 2500 people have been trained in these workshops over the past eight years, gaining expertise in setting up internet connections and networks.
