World Economic Forum (WEF) World Economic Forum (WEF)
Mission:

The World Economic Forum is a partnership between business, political and other social leaders focused on promoting economic growth and social progress.

Programme activities:

Digital Divide initiative: The World Economic Forum's Digital Divide Initiative was launched at its annual meeting in Davos in January 2000.

The Initiative is built around a Task Force of stakeholders from business, government and civil society to explore ways of addressing the global digital divide. Steering committees are now working under the Initiative's umbrella on the key issues of education, content and connectivity, and on the creation of an entrepreneurial environment for ICTs.
