The Fondation du Devenir is a Geneva-based non-profit organisation which is active in a range of social and economic areas.

ICT focus:

At an international level, the Fondation promotes African countries' acquisition of IT for local development and debate on the role of ICTs in strengthening democracy, disseminating sustainable economic and social practices and more equitable cooperation between nations.

Programme activities:

The Geneva Conference on Africa and New Information Technologies (October 1996) - co-chaired by President Konare of Mali - adopted a Final Declaration which called for the establishment of a network to facilitate social use of information technology in Africa.
